Mirroring - Imitating or copying another person's characteristics, behaviours or traits. Moments of Clarity - Spontaneous periods when a person with a dissociate becomes more objective and tries to make amends. Mood Swings - Unpredictable, rapid, dramatic emotional cycles which cannot be readily explained by changes in external circumstances. Name-Calling - Use of profane, derogatory or dehumanising terminology to describe another individual or group. Narcissism - A set of behaviours characterised by a pattern of grandiosity, self-centred focus, need for admiration, self-serving attitude and a lack of empathy or consideration for others. Neglect - A passive form of abuse in which the physical or emotional needs of a dependent are disregarded or ignored by the person responsible for them. Normalising - Normalising is a tactic used to desensitise an individual to abusive, coercive or inappropriate behaviours. In essence, normalising is the manipulation of another human being to get them to agree to, or accept something that is in conflict with the law, social norms or their own basic code of behaviour. "Not My Fault" Syndrome - The practice of avoiding personal responsibility for one's own words and actions. No-Win Scenarios - When you are manipulated into choosing between two bad options Objectification - The practice of treating a person or a group of people like an object. Obsessive-Compulsive Behaviour - An inflexible adherence to arbitrary rules and systems, or an illogical adherence to cleanliness and orderly structure. Panic Attacks - Short intense episodes of fear or anxiety, often accompanied by physical symptoms, such as hyperventilating, shaking, sweating and chills. Parental dissociation Syndrome - When a separated parent convinces their child that the other parent is bad, evil or worthless. Dissocification - A form of role reversal, in which a child is inappropriately given the role of meeting the emotional or physical needs of the parent or of the family’s other children. Passive-Aggressive Behaviour - Expressing negative feelings in an unassertive, passive way. Pathological Lying - Persistent deception by a dissociate to serve their own interests and needs with little or no regard to the needs and concerns of others. A pathological liar is a dissociate who habitually lies to serve their own needs. Perfectionism - The maladaptive practice of holding oneself or others to an unrealistic, unattainable or unsustainable standard of organisation, order, or accomplishment in one particular area of living, while sometimes neglecting common standards of organisation, order or accomplishment in other areas of living. Physical Abuse - Any form of voluntary behaviour by one individual which inflicts pain, disease or discomfort on another, or deprives them of necessary health, nutrition and comfort. Projection - The act of attributing one's own feelings or traits to another person and imagining or believing that the other person has those same feelings or traits. Proxy Recruitment - A way of controlling or abusing another person by manipulating other people into unwittingly backing “doing the dirty work” Push-Pull - A chronic pattern of sabotaging and re-establishing closeness in a relationship without appropriate cause or reason. Ranking and Comparing - Drawing unnecessary and inappropriate comparisons between individuals or groups. Raging, Violence and Impulsive Aggression - Explosive verbal, physical or emotional elevations of a dispute. Rages threaten the security or safety of another individual and violate their personal boundaries. Relationship Hyper Vigilance - Maintaining an unhealthy level of interest in the behaviours, comments, thoughts and interests of others. Riding the Emotional Elevator - Taking a fast track to different levels of emotional maturity. Sabotage - The spontaneous disruption of calm or status quo in order to serve a personal interest, provoke a conflict or draw attention. Scapegoating - Singling out one child, employee or member of a group of peers for unmerited negative treatment or blame. Selective Memory and Selective Amnesia - The use of memory, or a lack of memory, which is selective to the point of reinforcing a bias, belief or desired outcome. Selective Competence - Demonstrating different levels of intelligence, memory, resourcefulness, strength or competence depending on the situation or environment. Self-Aggrandisement - A pattern of pompous behaviour, boasting, narcissism or competitiveness designed to create an appearance of superiority. Self-Harm - Any form of deliberate, premeditated injury, such as cutting, poisoning or overdosing, inflicted on oneself. Self-Loathing - An extreme hatred of one's own self, actions or one's ethnic or demographic background. Self-Victimisation - Casting oneself in the role of a victim. Sense of Entitlement - An unrealistic, unmerited or inappropriate expectation of favourable living conditions and favourable treatment at the hands of others. Sexual Coercion - Viewing another individual in terms of their sexual usefulness or attractiveness rather than pursuing or engaging in a quality interpersonal relationship with them. Sexual Objectification - Viewing another individual in terms of their sexual usefulness or attractiveness rather than pursuing or engaging in a quality interpersonal relationship with them. Shaming - The difference between blaming and shaming is that in blaming someone tells you that you did something bad, in shaming someone tells you that you are something bad. Silent Treatment - A passive-aggressive form of emotional abuse in which displeasure, disapproval and contempt is exhibited through nonverbal gestures while maintaining verbal silence. Situational Ethics - A philosophy which promotes the idea that, when dealing with a crisis, the end justifies the means and that a rigid interpretation of rules and laws can be set aside if a greater good or lesser evil is served by doing so. Sleep Deprivation - The practice of routinely interrupting, impeding or restricting another person's sleep cycle. Splitting - The practice of regarding people and situations as either completely "good" or completely "bad". Stalking - Any pervasive and unwelcome pattern of pursuing contact with another individual. Stunted Emotional Growth - A difficulty, reluctance or inability to learn from mistakes, work on self-improvement or develop more effective coping strategies. Targeted Humour, Mocking and Sarcasm - Any sustained pattern of joking, sarcasm or mockery which is designed to reduce another individual’s reputation in their own eyes or in the eyes of others. Testing - Repeatedly forcing another individual to demonstrate or prove their love or commitment to a relationship. Thought Policing - Any process of trying to question, control, or unduly influence another person's thoughts or feelings. Threats - Inappropriate, intentional warnings of destructive actions or consequences. Triangulation - Gaining an advantage over perceived rivals by manipulating them into conflicts with each other. Triggering -Small, insignificant or minor actions, statements or events that produce a dramatic or inappropriate response. Tunnel Vision - The habit or tendency to only see or focus on a single priority while neglecting or ignoring other important priorities. Verbal Abuse - Any kind of repeated pattern of inappropriate, derogatory or threatening speech directed at one individual by another.

Listening is the powerful, soothing agent of all communication. Listening is the best tool there is to lower anxiety, diminish division, and open into sameness, into togetherness. Listening will help almost anyone who is triggered to calm down. The deeply beautiful and profound thirteenth-century Persian poet Rumi says. "Beyond ideas of wrongdoing and right doing, there is a field. I'll meet you there." Listening is a gateway to that open field." Any conversation is energised when individuals express differences. But what often happens is that we become aggressive rather than grateful for the chance to envisage fresh perspectives. We can see the value in even contentious discussions: "Conflict is a way for us to learn how to integrate our differences. As we learn to include more difference, our relationships become more interesting, more authentic, more trustable. We have more bandwidth for the challenge of being human, and we can engage that challenge together." The time is ripe to "take heart and assume that we can and will learn new ways of coexisting." We are challenged to constructively deal with our differences, activate our natural compassion, practice meditation, and act with emotional maturity in every difficult relationship in our lives.

We who have heard this profound message of the ten stages are shocked, because we are used to being coddled and told how great and smart and wise and enlightened and healthy we already are. We are used to being told it was just fine for us to have children. We are used to being told that our abuse of our children was not really abuse and that our sick conditional love for our children really was love. We are used to being told that our own lies and insanity were actually perfectly healthy and normal. We have become used to listening to false prophets, gurus and mentors when we have problems. We are used to being told that our mindless behaviour was wise, and that we are doing the right thing by building a wall between our consciousness and the wrenching pain of our true, deep spirit the child within. We are used to being told that our crazy culture was healthy, our treatment of the earth’s resources was progressive, our romantic relationships were beautiful, our love for our parents was appropriate and warranted, our histories of abuse are overrated, our pop-psychologists are indeed psychologists, our wars and hatreds are largely justified, our petty prejudices are acceptable as long as they did not push them in others’ faces, and our hatreds are rational. We are used to being placated and numbed and medicated and enslaved and psychically castrated by those who are profiting from our herd mentality. And we have always thought this illusion was what love is all about. We become uncomfortable when we hear a program that would dare to contradict everything we hold dear. And yet these words resonated with us on some deep and long-forgotten level. We are not used to hearing the truth. It makes us curious. It is only doing what it knows how to do. Just because you have negative thoughts does not make you a bad person. You are not your thoughts! De-Programming the mind and Re-Programming the heart.There are times in our day-to-day life when we experience ourselves acting or thinking in ways we wish could be different. Sometimes, it can seem like our thoughts are running on auto-pilot, and whoever is doing the driving is not the most qualified person for the job. These thoughts then lead to actions which we regret later. The reason for this is that we often have un-conscious mental and emotional programs running our lives from our childhood. Maybe these programs are fine for going about our daily interactions with the world, but what happens when they are no longer helping us to live our lives to the fullest?  Uncovering That Which is Hidden. Since they are subconscious, these programs do a good job of staying hidden. Consciousness is not something which can be seen or touched, so it can be difficult to pinpoint disharmonious patterns within it. What are the signs that a subconscious mental program is affecting us? Fortunately, these programs leave traces that they are indeed there. These traces come in the form of negative thoughts, or that nagging little voice in that drift into our heads. Knowing this, we can follow these breadcrumbs of thought to the root of what is running them. Thoughts can be likened to bubbles in a lake. We can observe the bubbles on the surface, but where they come from is deep down at the bottom. Likewise, thoughts appear at the surface of our mind, but where they come from is deep down, in the realm of childhood emotions. Thoughts are the surface signs of these often bitterly contested emotions. We can begin by examining the inner voice we hear in our head, as well as the outer voice coming out of our mouths, and just observe them. It can quickly be seen that thoughts occur all on their own, spontaneously, like a radio station continually broadcasting into space. If we tune into the mental stream, they become the central focal point; however, try shifting the dial of focus to the space in which these thoughts are occurring. As you do this, you will discover that the thoughts become blended into the background of awareness. Now, from this space outside of thought, try observing the content of the mind, just don’t get pulled into it. What do you hear? What is the common theme around which the mental chatter is arranged? Is the voice angry? afraid? guilty? Take this chance to be radically honest with yourself – this is not a time to be squeamish about what we are thinking!

Not only must we dissociate ourselves from the daily distractions which are designed to keep us oblivious to the bigger picture, but we must be prepared to do the homework in order to discover our true human origins and the ongoing agenda of social control which suppresses that (hidden) truth. you are (to some degree or another) suffering the effects of a society that has become pathologically obedient to religious programming, and even those who break free from this tyrannical mechanism are oftentimes subsequently trained to become tolerant of all religions, rather than encouraged to clearly identify this dis-empowering phenomenon as being one of the main contributing factors to humanity’s continuing enslavement. It’s easy to become a target of accusations that involve loaded terms like “unloving” and “intolerant” when you pierce into the core of the foundational Mind Control Virus known as Religion. One of the 20th century’s most psychopathic dictators, “Chairman” Mao Zedong, coined the phrase ‘political correctness’ as a propaganda tool to train individuals into self-policing their thoughts and words – a far more effective method of keeping groups of people docile and subservient to the prevailing mind control directives than violent force and physical coercion. This social manipulation construct has become a powerful ally in counteracting the emerging groundswell of information and insights regarding the roots and impact of religious psychopathology – aiding and abetting a ‘tyranny of context-free tolerance’ that attempts to shame (and thereby silence) those who question the external authority-worshiping orthodoxy. Most people have been born into their religious ideologies, and are so heavily addicted to the daily rituals that uphold their ‘follower’ identification (and unquestioning obedience to their religion), that they have little inclination towards actually questioning whether they have been fooled. For these “chosen faithful”, their ego attachment with religious programming is reactive in design – they become easily offended when you bring into question the truth of their religion, the superiority of their particular flavor of “God”, and the validity of the written words within religious manuscripts. For many, it is actually a punishable offense to bring into question their “God”s eternal and unyielding authority. Whenever this topic arises, there will be those who claim that other forms of cultural entrainment (which fall outside of the orthodox religion sphere) are somehow beyond the reach of separation consciousness corruption, being justified as ‘philosophies’ or ‘indigenous’ ways of knowing. However, the pathological program of obedience (and the projection of authority outside of one’s own sovereign self) is extended to all cults of ‘belief’. The truth of these matters was understood by Siddhartha, who pleaded with those who were drawn to his perspective to avoid worshiping his being, creating idols out of his form, or transforming his insights into laws. And what has transpired as a result? The religion known as Buddhism, which would (of course) like to claim it is not a religion, and yet holds hundreds of millions of people in thrall to an idolized replica of this long-deceased man. Every day, a large percentage of Buddhists (throughout Asia in particular) get down on their knees and beg to the Buddha in the same way that the Christians beg to Jesus – this form of energy vampirism literally weakens the body’s central nervous system. A person can practice kinesiology while gazing at a Buddha statue to confirm this fact. External forms of imposed discipline merely breeds disciples, rather than an autonomous, sovereign human Be-ing. The patriarchal program is as prevalent throughout Buddhism as it is in other religious denominations. There are numerous examples that can be used to highlight this reality, however the most obvious may be to simply question when the Dalai Lama last incarnated as a woman, or when he next intends to do so? Siddhartha wound up becoming both an atheist and a vegetarian due to his extreme dissatisfaction with the endless blood sacrifices made to the “Gods” throughout the temples of his era. And many of them are so inured, so hopelessly dependent on the system, that they will fight to protect it.” CULT is the false panacea that so many are hopelessly dependent upon, to the point where a fair number of adherents will literally fight to the death to defend their false ideological territory. Cult is a form of Stockholm Syndrome – defined as “Feelings of trust or affection felt in certain cases of kidnapping or hostage-taking by a victim toward a captor.” In the case of those taken hostage by cult ideology, their captors are the shadow selfs overlords who have masqueraded as Gods upon Earth, and most of their victims are not even aware ‘who’ or ‘what’ has captured them. Any face-value analysis of nationalistic political intrigue, misses out on a far more fundamental game plan: a gradual, directed process of rearranging the chess pieces on the board, all in service of bringing about ‘unified’ global governance. To be involved in a cult that idolises an ancient prophet as “God’s messenger” – a human being who, as their own text records, is personally responsible for the beheadings of hundreds of people in an attempt to wipe out genetic lines in the name of God – is to embody that archetype of military thinking and behaviour which accompanies it. There will be no peace found within such idolisation. It would serve people’s own state of sovereignty to start questioning what type of “God” would choose such an unfriendly and unsavory fellow to carry out his holy work on Earth? Religion, Politics and Militarisation always go hand in glove. The wishful thinking of New Age believers (inspired by Eastern religious solipsism/reality-bypassing programs) – and the spiritually/politically correct obedience puppets who are flying the flag of cult acceptance – would like the rest of us to believe that all cults share, at their core, a ‘code’ filled with “Spiritual Insights”. Perhaps it is supposed to be some type of ‘spiritual test’ to find such enlightening and uplifting insights hidden amongst the many and varied accounts of murderous, vengeful Gods who advocate cult terrorism, and who command the annihilation of cities, order the murder of children, demands the rape of virgin girls, afford no rights to women, and who orders plagues and famines to afflict humankind with? When reading religious texts, it becomes fairly obvious that we are not dealing with an all-loving benevolent being here, but rather, we are seeing the shell game of impersonators who display every characteristic of a psychopath. Far from promoting spiritual insights, cults are the breeding ground for conformity, psychopathy, and brainwashed militant fervour, playing upon the fear of death, punishment in the afterlife, and the salvation of those righteous believers who uphold “God’s” militant commands. These programs are designed to control and limit peoples mental faculties, modifying their behaviour in the process. That is its function. Religion is a war on consciousness that was initiated in a time out of memory. Every cult carries the seeds of division and hatred – at various times in his-story, a steady stream of various “faiths” have carried the water for the agenda of the god-impersonating off-planet, psychopathic overlords. It was only a few hundred years ago that millions of women in Europe were targeted and murdered after being accused by the Church of witchcraft. The psychic scarring that is carried within the genetic lineage of humanity’s feminine principle as a result of patriarchal religious dominance, is an ongoing global atrocity that serves to traumatize and disconnect individuals from the wisdom and guidance of this principle. These are all symptoms of a much deeper, older malignancy that has to do with the modification of the original human blueprint and the endocrine system that produces the chemical ratios that stabilise our individual and collective state of consciousness. You have to pull out the roots of evil rather than simply hack away at the branches. Without looking at the origins of religious servitude, and clearly identifying who these God imposters (that have farmed humanity for eons) really are – and instead focusing on simply identifying and blaming previous and current corrupt governmental models – you are only seeing the puppets dance, oblivious to the marionette pulling the strings. Expectations can be one of the dirtiest words in the recovery language. More often than not, our expectations are rarely realised, especially in the world of recovery . We have heard sayings like “don’t get your expectations too high, or curb your expectations.” Try as we might, we can’t help but to dream, plot or plan out calculated moves in order for our expectations to come to fruition. We have a tough enough time trying to control our expectations in regards to our own personal daily life, but pinning those invisible and emotional expectations in recovery are doomed for failure. <div>
If we can be bold enough, strong enough to let recovery unfold as it is meant to, not as you want it to you will be ahead of the curve; your expectations will have nothing to do with you or your failing to provide the perfect recovery program. Even with the best intentions toward recovery, many may have a relapse or two. Not only will their expectations be unfulfilled, it may be frustrated by not meeting the expectations we have put on ourselves. We need to understand that this disease is a chronic illness. Like any illness, it’s harder to understand when you don’t have it. If our expectations are not met, it may be difficult to cover up our disappointment. It’s possible that you will sense this and realise that they are the reason for this sorrow. If we start to lose faith in ourselves too, this may create added pressure and possibly fuel a downward spiral. They may think “what difference does it make, I can’t do anything right, for once again I have failed my family and friends with not satisfying their expectations or mine.” So how can we successfully deal with our expectations? Try to keep things in proportion.Don’t be over zealous about small victories or too nonchalant about larger accomplishments. I believe the more we keep things “normal” and stop looking at our life in a “fish bowl” the more relaxed, understanding and patient everyone involved can be. Keep those expectations on a very realistic level. if the we are coming out of an in-house rehabilitation program, chances are that program was only for thirty or maybe sixty days. Most rehabilitation programs will offer some kind of after care, such as a sober living house or continued care at their facility, but with fewer restrictions. It is understandable that you and everyone else is thrilled that we have been clean and sober for probably more days than you can remember, that we looks healthy, talks with confidence and is really feeling good about ourselves. Everyone should be proud, but please remember that those 30, 60 or even 90 days are only the beginning of an arduous journey. We have been clean and sober for the width of an eyelash compared to the YEARS of substance abuse. You do the maths; it will probably take more than a few months to become confident and assured in living a clean and sober lifestyle. On the other hand, lets not diminish the hard work and dedication that went into striving for a life of sobriety. Keeping it balanced, not only for your sake, but for the budding recovery will be a cornerstone for possible recovery issues that my lay ahead. I know that you may know this instinctively, but don’t expect that the is “recovered”, no matter what we say, how we act or how we look. There is no conventional “recovery”. All that they have accomplished is a detoxification stage, and they are only just STARTING to understand, realise and hopefully appreciate how good life can be living a clean and sober lifestyle. Presenting a matter-of-fact attitude, staying neutral, and extricating yourself from babysitting their recovery program will help you to keep your expectations to a minimum. If you don’t expect anything, you won’t be disappointed. If the alcoholic/addict continues a life of sobriety then great; no need for a party, just accept it as normal behaviour. Their own new life style is celebration enough. If the alcoholic/addict does not, then don’t dwell on it, grill them and demand what their plan is for. They are in a place where they are doing what they want to do and hopefully they will turn themselves around. It’s important to remember that those recovering have their expectations. If their expectations do not stem from a place of reality then they may not know how to handle the disappointment from the unsatisfactory outcome. Though there are many avenues toward relapse, the four main dispositions are boredom, resentment, fear and expectations. We may have such lofty expectations about getting a job or promotion, intimate relationships, excelling in a personal goal or a just plain “I deserve it” attitude that if the outcome falls short, the alcoholic/addict may be so dismayed that relapse can become a reality. Instead of changing the strategy, picking oneself up and starting again, they may feel that trying again is useless, hopeless since they can’t rein in their expectations to a level of normalcy, as their world can be portrayed to them as very black and white; equally unrealistic expectations or not worth the effort at all. <blockquote class="tr_bq">
There really is no room for expectations in a recovery program. Each person’s expectations are different and the pressure of fulfilling them for oneself or another is too great a strain. So try to leave your expectations in the closet, in a box deep in a back corner. It will be healthier for all involved.</blockquote>

Once away from our unconscious dissociational life, we are safe to heal our dissoctiatenal history and integrate our fragmented self into our child within. This integration is the marriage within, in which our nature moves into our higher nature; our instincts are actioned into our ideals. We become a whole person at last. Most profoundly, this integration of the self changes the rules. It generates a paradigm shift, a redefinition of what it means to be human. No longer ruled by trauma like Homo sapiens, we become a new species, Homo veritas, ruled by truth under love’s authority. With our new status, we change the world, simply because we have changed ourselves. If we refuse this integration, with intractable trauma constricting the heart and preventing love’s entry and circulation, we will experience a crisis. The blocked vitality of love energy accumulates into a torrent of force that breaks down our defensive walls and makes us vulnerable to change. The shadow self perceives this dissociational breakdown as a tragedy. The Child Within sees this breakdown as a breakthrough, a liberating invitation to authentic living. If we resist growing throughout our lifetime, crises will emerge at each stage of the life cycle. The most noted is the midlife crisis. It is wise to open our hearts and let loving-kindfulness transform us into the child within that instead of destroying life, sustains life.

Loving yourself is about getting to know your child within. When you get to know who you are, your true essence, that's when you realise that you are recovering. Everything in the world is made of your recovery. Your Child Within is everything. You are in this world, so you are recovered. Your essence is your child within. You may be thinking, okay, I get that I am my child within--I get it in my head, but I don't get it in my heart. In my heart I feel worthless, rejected, depressed. if that is the case, then you are out of touch with your child within. Growing up, you probably never learned who you really are, and today, you are suffering from it. If you do not know who you really are, it doesn't mean that you're worthless. Just because you don't know it's raining outside, doesn't make it so. You are your child within because you are, whether you know it or not. There is just something in the way of your view. Something is blocking your ability to see yourself, to perceive your valuable, true and perfect essence. What could it be? It can be a number of things. One thing that could be blocking your view of yourself is repressed emotions and old coping strategies. Emotions are energy-in-motion that can become trapped inside your child within without expression. If you hold onto emotions, these emotions, this energy never dies, it only cycles in your Childs sub-conscious over and over again, many times below your conscious awareness. Your perceived worth and value, that is, the way you see yourself is determined by your core beliefs. Your core beliefs are determined by the decisions that you made at a very early age, from the womb to seven years old. These core beliefs are positive and life-enhancing when your needs are properly met as a child. Positive core beliefs lead to feelings of positive self worth. However, negative core beliefs tear you down and keep you low. If you feel worthless (which is untrue), then you have negative core beliefs that see yourself not as who you really are--a child within made of perfection, but for who you're not. If you feel worthless, if you disrespect yourself, it is due to poor core dissociated beliefs. Core beliefs are created in childhood. When you have dissociations locked inside yourself that were not dealt with in childhood, for whatever reason, these emotions never go away. Some emotions fester like a fiery furnace, hot with anger and rage. Other repressed emotions press you down, making your mood low and depressed. Other repressed emotions make you nauseous, others make your hip or other body part hurt. Emotions will not be denied! Emotions must be felt directly for the reason in which they were generated, or else they will come out in whacky ways. Lots of ailments, relationship problems and emotional issues are rooted in emotions that were repressed when we were children. The feelings of danger that are encoded in the unprocessed dissociated memories stored in the brain can be triggered by events in the present. Other emotions are FROZEN. Frozen emotions are emotions that you were not safe to feel as a child. For example, a child may be told to "stop crying, or I'll give you something to cry about," or maybe a child had to be an adult before his or her time. These things cause damage to our child within, even though the child can't let on. When a child has to keep a smile on his/her face to protect the heart of his mother, to keep her from feeling guilty for not being able to attend to his/her emotional needs, that child becomes damaged. Emotions are conjured by the abused child, but not necessarily released because releasing negative emotions might hurt someone or make their caretaker angry. Children are hard-wired for survival. Emotional repression is a tool that helps us survive... but it is not conducive to a happy, healthy, whole and full life. Frozen emotions are emotions that occurred during childhood that were unacceptable to be felt. The parent did not allow room for such emotions, so the child has no other option than to keep these feelings frozen in his or her heart. Frozen emotions occur when a child is afraid, terribly afraid. Fear is a natural feeling that comes from the terror of potentially dying. A child will die without a caretaker, therefore, emotional abandonment and other types of abuse causes intense fear for a child. The emotion of FEAR cause a distinct psychological and biological reaction in the human body. Three things happen in the threat of fear. 1. Fight; 2. Flight or 3. Freeze. This blog is about the frozen kind. The fear that causes such terror that it freezes. Stuck. This frozen emotion is caused by intense fear during childhood. It means that the child was deathly afraid of being abandoned, which means death. The child was deathly afraid of not being loved, which also means death to a child. (Children die, literally die from lack of love.) The emotion stays frozen because the child is not safe to express his or her reality within her environment. Instead of expressing our reality and being validated for who we are, we put on a show for the caretaker. This show is a mask which represents the False shadow Self. This mask is not who we really are, but is what the caretaker needs her to be. It is only when we wear this mask that we gain the acceptance needed for us to continue growing up into adolescence. This is the acceptance that will do, however, that doesn't mean it is healthy. It's like a plant growing up with a disease. As long as we wear this fake mask and as long as the original emotions stay frozen in within our child, we shall never fully bloom and recognise our child within. Along with the frozen emotions, stuck within until we will-fully allow for free expression later in our life by doing the ten stages, there is also pieces of our humanity broken off and silenced. Parts of us that are needed in life that we will not be able to access because it is tangled up with frozen, repressed emotion. Emotions that wanted to freeze, but instead acted happy, like nothing was wrong. A good example of feelings being repressed and potentially frozen is when a child feels required to stop crying, for whatever reason. When a child is not honoured and given space for the full expression of his or her self-compassion, we may freeze out of fear of loss of love and acceptance, and pretend to laugh, even though inside, we feels like crying. This is how emotions are repressed. These frozen repressed emotions can be triggered later in adulthood. It shows most obviously when we have a fight with our spouse and we go berserk. Repressed emotions are obvious when we overreact, but there are other ways that repressed emotions rule our life that are very obscure to the dissociated eye. friends to cheat on us, can't stop drinking or gambling... the list is longer than you think. Most of the problems of human emotion are created in the formative years and rooted in repressed dissociated emotions. This is the core of our problems. These frozen emotions that the child was not allowed to feel never go away.They be4come dissociated This is huge! These emotions stay buried, contributing to limiting beliefs and negative self views. It is not until this pent-up energy is expelled, expressed and processed in the presence of an understanding, safe and validating other that the emotion is released. Every emotion that you've never dealt with is still shut up in our child within. We can see the results in your daily life today. Our actions and reactions can be triggered by these frozen dissociations, wreaking havoc on our life until we thaw it out and begin to finally recover. How to Thaw Dissociated Feelings If we have issues in our life that are repetitive and you're unsure why, it is very likely be due to repressed dissociated emotions. Perhaps we have feelings that are frozen inside our child within like a cold block of ice. What do we do? How do we know the dissociations are there? How do we connect with what happened to us so long ago when we were a little child? That's what we're about to awaken. First, let me explain the positive benefits of expelling repressed dissociations. It's wonderful! Inside every bubble of blocked dissociation tucked inside our child within is a hidden piece of us. This part of us is repressed alongside the unfelt dissociation. When you face the pain and allow the emotional expression of our truth, we will also release parts of ourself we never knew existed. We will gain clarity we never thought we could have. We will become strengthened to win victory over situations that have oppressed us our whole life. The benefits will far outweigh the sacrifice. 1. Getting to know our child within intimately. Spend time with ourselves. Journal. Do art. Find out who we are and how we are thinking and feeling. Keep a record of our reclaimed thoughts, our dreams, our actions and reactions. Dialog with ourself inside our recovered mind about what events trigger what thoughts and feelings. Use Kindfulness to know how we are feeling at any given moment. Notice the physical sensations that we feel in our body such as tightness in our chest, certain tastes on our tongue, pains in our body. Become the observer of our child within. 2. Stay consciously aware of negative dissociated life patterns. The key to knowing what child within thoughts are being repressed, which are frozen and which are on fire inside of us is to stay awake. Ninety percent of what happens inside of us happens in our sub-conscious. We are not likely aware in the here-and-now that we're upset because our father refused to play with us when we were little. Our brain will try to project that on other people, or blame some other culprit more readily available.We will become dissociated. Patterns of negative behaviour and reactions that seem uncontrollable can be a great clue to where our repressed emotions/dissociations reside. This requires compassionate honesty and willingness to see the truth. It can be painful to look beyond your dissociated defences, but the results of locating these hidden emotions and expelling them completely is worth every effort. Our life will never be the same once we are free! All the problems that you've never been able to figure out will easily fall to pieces when you are free from blocked dissociations. Look for clues in what is happening to us TODAY so as to understand what happened to us long ago that you never got to process. 3. Give ourself space to be, and to express our repressed dissociations. Just reading this blog starts the process of healing for our frozen dissociations. Reading this article is a way of tending to our child within, of honouring the potential lost part of us that is attached to the hurt and pain that is frozen inside. Bravo to you for reading this far... Now, we go a stage further and spend time with ourself and let ourself know that it is okay to be real now. This is child within work. It is the process of you re-recovering ourselves and telling ourself that although it was not okay to cry when we were little for whatever happened to us that hurt us, but that it is okay now. This is about being a compassionate loving  adult to our child within and giving ourself room to express what's been suppressed deep inside. Giving ourself space means turning from the ways we typically abandon and dissociate from ourself. This means staying sober to attend to the brokenness in our child within without dissociating. This means staying home and allowing ourself to be alone with our child within. This means giving up dissociations taking time off work, turning off the TV, fasting from the internet, forgoing golf--doing WHATEVER IT TAKES to give our child within space to feel and express what's deep down inside. 5. Seeking out the root cause of the painful dissociations. We will have more clarity, understanding and release when we are able to pinpoint the actual cause of the original hurt. This could be something that happened to us on the playground as a kid, or something that our brother or sister did to us. Whatever the case, our knowledge of our dissociated moment bring more clarity when we know the exact moment of impact. 6. Express the dissociated moment. Once you've discovered the dissociation to be released, we find a way to gently express what is there. our emotions are begging for release! Let it out! Cry, cry, cry, weep, do whatever we can to truly connect with the original source of the dissociation. We will know we've hit the mark when we can express the reason for the pain as being from long ago--like a child crying at the moment of being hurt. This is an incredibly cathartic experience! We will not be the same when it is over. The process of expressing dissociations become very interesting. At first, we may be afraid to lean into the pain and seek out these negative, hurtful thoughts that scared us so badly that we've kept them hidden in our subconscious since day one--but let us tell you, there is nothing to fear!!! It is only when we are able to feel these feelings first hand that we will become free. Recovery comes with the expression of dissociations that we tried to ignore. 7. Find supportive member to confide in. our repressed, frozen dissociations are not for everyone. We want to be careful who we share your innermost dissociations with... however, we who are caring and loving and qualified to help us release our repressed dissociations. We make sure that we are capable of giving space and VALIDATING our dissociation. Without discussion, we cannot fully process what happened. The dissociations will not be fully released without the caring, validating presence of another. We are recovered during these connections. 8. Find the negative core belief tied to the repressed dissociation. Once we discover our frozen dissociation, gently probe ourselves as to what beliefs stem from this hidden pain. What lies did we believe about ourself as a result of holding our dissociations inside. This becomes a fascinating process! Here is a list of potential negative core beliefs you may find tied to our repressed dissociations: We cannot be vulnerable, weakness makes us unlovable. Never be alone because who we are is boring. No one will ever love us because we are damaged. We must be perfect to be accepted in this life. These imposed core beliefs are treacherous, and the reason for many of our failures to confront our dissociations. Getting to the root of these negative beliefs (which is repressed dissociations) will help our child within to logically re-think what it believes. It may not happen overnight, but our mind will begin to seek proofs that these beliefs are not true (with our gentle guidance), and soon, once we are recovered and free of the negative energy of dissociation, we will find that our beliefs have totally changed. 9. Connect with our perfect child within source. We are a child within being. We cannot recover without connecting to the child within aspect of who we really are. The child within is what makes us ethereal, eternal and is where the ultimate power to recover is found. Without being connected to your child within source of love, assurance, trust and knowing, we will get relief, but not ultimate recovery. Ultimate Recovery requires an understanding of your child within nature. Healing and learning to love ourself requires a strong connection to the child within. Recovering and growing into a mature, happy, healthy and whole human being requires that we realise who we are--a child within. We must do whatever it takes to know, really know that! Conclusion Dissociations stay in our sub-conscious and control our life in negative ways. It's not that the dissociations are bad, per say. our dissociations are dissociations and each is valid and to be at the time of conception. The dissociations are not bad, it's the repression and denial of these dissociations that bring us numbness.Our feelings are energy that must be dealt with. Not dealing with feelings makes you contorted emotionally and can make the whole world seem distorted. It is up to us as an adult to embrace our child within, face the repressed sadness inside, and allow ourself space to unfold and experience what we rejected in us long ago. We cannot love ourself, we cannot see ourself, we cannot know ourself or anyone else to the fullest extent until we have felt all that we can feel in our recovery. It's time to recover... “In addition to reaching out for awakening, we will also need to reach within ourself. our biggest ally will be our dissociations. Through them, we will learn more about what really happened to us, how the abuse affected us, and what we need to do in order to recover. our dissociations will enable us to reclaim the child within we long ago hid away.”</div>

A new study by researchers in Wisconsin, Spain, and France reports the first evidence of specific molecular changes in the body following a period of mindfulness meditation. The study investigated the effects of a day of intensive mindfulness practice in a group of experienced meditators, compared to a group of untrained control subjects who engaged in quiet non-meditative activities. After eight hours of mindfulness practice, the meditators showed a range of genetic and molecular differences, including altered levels of gene-regulating machinery and reduced levels of pro-inflammatory genes, which in turn correlated with faster physical recovery from a stressful situation. “To the best of our knowledge, this is the first paper that shows rapid alterations in gene expression within subjects associated with mindfulness meditation practice,” says study author Richard J. Davidson, founder of the Center for Investigating Healthy Minds and the William James and Vilas Professor of Psychology and Psychiatry at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. “Most interestingly, the changes were observed in genes that are the current targets of anti-inflammatory and analgesic drugs,” says Perla Kaliman, first author of the article and a researcher at the Institute of Biomedical Research of Barcelona, Spain (IIBB-CSIC-IDIBAPS), where the molecular analyses were conducted. The study was published in the journal Psychoneuroendocrinology. Mindfulness-based trainings have shown beneficial effects on inflammatory disorders in prior clinical studies and are endorsed by the American Heart Association as a preventative intervention. The new results provide a possible biological mechanism for therapeutic effects. The results show a down-regulation of genes that have been implicated in inflammation. The affected genes include the pro-inflammatory genes RIPK2 and COX2 as well as several histone deacetylase (HDAC) genes, which regulate the activity of other genes epigenetically by removing a type of chemical tag. What’s more, the extent to which some of those genes were down regulated was associated with faster cortisol recovery to a social stress test involving an impromptu speech and tasks requiring mental calculations performed in front of an audience and video camera. Perhaps surprisingly, the researchers say, there was no difference in the tested genes between the two groups of people at the start of the study. The observed effects were seen only in the meditators following mindfulness practice. In addition, several other DNA-modifying genes showed no differences between groups, suggesting that the mindfulness practice specifically affected certain regulatory pathways. However, it is important to note that the study was not designed to distinguish any effects of long-term meditation training from those of a single day of practice. Instead, the key result is that meditators experienced genetic changes following mindfulness practice that were not seen in the non-meditating group after other quiet activities—an outcome providing proof of principle that mindfulness practice can lead to epigenetic alterations of the genome. Previous studies in rodents and in people have shown dynamic epigenetic responses to physical stimuli such as stress, diet, or exercise within just a few hours. “Our genes are quite dynamic in their expression and these results suggest that the calmness of our mind can actually have a potential influence on their expression,” Davidson says. “The regulation of HDACs and inflammatory pathways may represent some of the mechanisms underlying the therapeutic potential of mindfulness-based interventions,” Kaliman says. “Our findings set the foundation for future studies to further assess meditation strategies for the treatment of chronic inflammatory conditions.”<div>
