The “Twelve Steps” is not a doctrine. Although there are many who have transformed it into canon.
AA's Big Book is not a Bible or Holy Scripture, yet how many would-be spiritually awake Big Book-Bots still get their guidance and direction on how to live out of it.
AA's Big Book is a "How to" volume proffering the spiritual principles contained in that Fellowship's Twelve Step proposals, when done as prescribed, not tampered with, overstated nor diluted, do something very special. Unlike the typical mesmerising dogma and platitudes found in most churches, religions and pseudo spiritual movements, the ancient spiritual principles found in the Twelve Steps culminate in a psychic release from the mental stranglehold of all prejudices.
A fresh consciousness is established; a condition placing the person who has spiritually awakened as the result, in contact with God, allowing an unmistakable awareness to distinguish right from wrong, true from false.
