THE RECOVERING SOCIETY How important it is to have vision and that the visions we get are actually messages that we receive from our higher power. It's so true. We have been raised in a society that tells us to ignore our dreams and believe the nightmare that is shown to us through most of the anxiety addicted media. "Unleash The Power Within" It's Proverbs 29:18, which says, "Where there is no vision, the people perish." We've been raised on marketing, advertising and basically brainwashed to believe that the world is going to hell and we better be afraid. And with the way we have created the economy to be today, over half of Britains believe that the future is not going to be better than the past. And then we think about this Proverb quote: "Where there is no vision, the people perish." One of my intentions in creating The Recovering Society is it's part of the solution to what's going on in the world. I don't believe that change comes from London, Government. or Banks or the Big Business .
I believe change starts as a movement on the streets. It starts small, in you and in me, and we begin to feel stirred by global events until eventually we, as a people, decide to stand up - no matter what our political affiliation is - and demand that we get back to the basics of social justice over pure profit. That is what conscious capitalism is all about - the three P's - People, Planet and Profits - all three are the bottom line. But you see, in today's world - it's the blind leading the blind. We can't solve matters of lack with a scarcity consciousness. We can't solve matters of war with more violence. We can't solve matters of hate with more hate. We've forgotten who we are in a global sense - our technology is expanding exponentially and yet our collective consciousness needs to catch up. Your level of consciousness basically just means a measure of how much you care. Do you care about only yourself, do you only care about people similar to you, or do you care about everyone, no matter what their race, creed, gender or political affiliation? The vision that I hold about the world is that people are doing the best they can from their point of view. But I don't believe that anyone is going to come and save me. I believe in the higher power to give us visions and our own personal power of choice and faith and courage to walk out those visions, no matter what may come.
I know that the solution isn't "out there" - the solution is "in here." And the more those of us who are walking on The path of recovery can be a living demonstration of what's possible, of the solution, the more we will be able to show the way to others - not by what we say or do, but by who we are being. When you are being reborn and renewed by our program, when you are demonstrating recovery, it doesn't require anything other than that - who you are is proof that what you say is true. And so on The Path of Recovery, we are being called to no longer believe the nightmare that the world would have us believe, and instead rely on our inner visions and our divine reality and have the courage, humility and persistence to walk out our Faith no matter what.
Now is not the time to let those who are living their nightmare convince you that your recoveries aren't true. They are simply living in bondage of the fear that isn't even real. Instead of buying into what you see, hear and feel from the outside world, check inside and listen to the subtle whispers of your heart and of your higher power. They don't have the seal of some major corporation or a degree from graduate school, but those whispers are what have guided all the great beings of our world to do amazing things. Greatness is simply trusting yourself more and more every day. So, can you detach from the nightmares of others and begin to live your own recovery? Do you have what it takes to call fear's bluff and to call the bluff of the recovery treatment world? I want to know!
