I believe that RECOVERY has no opposite. Here at The Daily Solution, our definition of Recovery is: total acceptance of what is.

And yes, fear, too, must be accepted. Acceptance indeed has no opposite.

Most spiritual Recovery will agree that the higher power is .

So how can the Creator, the Energy behind all things have an opposite? The mere fact that we feel fear is by Divine design.

Fear is here, ultimately, to protect us.

But, we do some pretty ignorant things in the name of self-protection and protecting the tribe.

Ultimately, I believe that we feel fear for two reasons. The first reason is because we either are or believe we are in mortal danger. Something is threatening our survival.

The second reason we feel fear is because we feel that we are disconnected from our higher power and the rest of the world. When we feel disconnected, isolated, unheard, unseen, shameful, guilty and alone – fear is a natural response.

Fear is an evolutionary impulse endowed by our Creator to help us survive. But, like anything, when it’s not in balance, it can cause all kinds of mayhem.

Unbalanced anything leads to disaster.

Fear can be super healthy.

I'll tell you what – if you want to live a fearless life, I suggest you stay in your comfort zone.

Why?

Because for us to be happy we must grow and make progress.

And for us to grow and make progress, we must take steps into uncertainty and out into the unknown. And when we do that, guess what happens?! That's right – fear arises.

Fear is not a bad thing in and of itself, but when fear controls us, we have stepped away from its true purpose.

The aim of the spiritual life can be to bring awareness and Love to fear.  AND – while doing so, unless we are in mortal danger, USE fear as FUEL – a compass showing us where to go.

Right before any major awesome thing in my life, I was scared.

Why would the fear that happens right before something awesome be the opposite of Love? That makes no sense.
