Soon after World War II, she visited the children’s barracks at the Maidanek concentration camp in Poland. There, amazingly, she observed hundreds and hundreds of butterfly images drawn by the inmate children on the walls, even with pebbles and fingernails. Spellbound by the sight of butterflies drawn on the walls, she wondered why they were there and what they meant. Twenty-five years later, after listening to hundreds of terminally ill patients, she finally realized that the imprisoned children must have known that they were going to die and intuitively were using butterflies as images of the physical death process. You know I can move from last night’s dinner to my childhood in an instant without going through all the intervening.

I say where was this information and they will say it was in my neurons. I say well if I went into your neurons do you think I’ll find the pictures of spaghetti and meatballs or you know are those synaptic networks coded for spaghetti and meatballs?</span><br /> <span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace; font-size: large;"><br /></span> <span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace; font-size: large;"> I slowly lead them to the point where I say that that information, that memory existed as potential memory in their consciousness and when they had the intention it was almost like a measurement. A photon went off in their neurons and it gave them the experience of they were reliving that experience and then in a moment I’ll say let’s switch from there and go back to your house to when you were a teenager or a child. Do you see that now? And they’ll immediately see that and it’s almost like a quantum leap. You know localizing another space-time event in your brain through intention is almost like the real me exists as a possibility field for potential space-time events that localize of course as experience through my brain but that real me is not in the brain, it’s not, it’s transcendent. It’s a field of possibilities, it proliferates in uncertainty, it has observer effect, it localizes in space-time events. It takes quantum leaps of imagination. You know I can move from last night’s dinner to my childhood in an instant without going through all the intervening. That consciousness seems to be what this unified field that scientists are looking for. Your Love of The Divine. Your Love of self. Your Love for an ideal. Your Love for others.<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />Many times as a recovery practioner I have to make hard choices and stand firm. When I do this, sometimes I get accused of not “walking my talk.”<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />And while we always do our best at SBR to lead with an open heart, disagreements happen, boundaries must be set and everyone can’t be happy all the time.<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />I don’t believe that everyone should like you. If you are going to shine, if you are going to give of your heart and be true to yourself, you are going to piss some people off – it’s just how it goes.<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />It might not be intentionally, it might not be to hurt them – but frictions in human relationships happen and to expect there to be no friction is not realistic.<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />The question is, can we lead with Love during friction while not backing down?<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />Can we open our hearts and still allow room for a fierce sense of self-love and protection so that thin boundaries don’t turn into being drowned by abandoning our own needs?<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />Kindness is a virtue that is evidence of Love – and so is courage. When we Love, we must Love in spite of the fear of what others will do.<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />We cannot control other people's opinions of us, or their actions.<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />All we can control is our own choices and the meanings we make about life. As long as our choices and our actions are in alignment with our truth and Love – we must let the pieces fall as they may.<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />Don’t be so concerned with your reputation or letting others down.
