  1. Writing down what you are thankful for helps you recognize the positive things in your life. It is so natural for humans to focus on the negative, by focusing on the positive, you will start to see everything that is great about your world. Try it just for one week and see the difference in yourself.
  2. Being grateful helps you see whats really important in your life. “Don’t sweat about the little things”. This will begin to happen as you recognize what is really important and those little niggly things will start to seem insignificant. Being alive, having a roof over your head and being surrounded by friends and family are the lowest common denominator that is worth remembering every so often.
  3. When you live in a state of thankfulness and being grateful, you can can begin to “re-frame” situations that would normally upset you. Having a bad day at work, may help you recognize and be thankful you are working, perhaps doing something you love usually! Be thankful you are being challenged in some way so you can learn from it.
  4. Thanking others really allows all that great energy to flow in and out. Taking time to be grateful and thankful, will also mean you can thank others for what they do or bring to your life.
  5. Being grateful opens the door to abundance. When you can start to see all the positives in your life, you are sending out positive energy. This triggers something in your brain and to the universal flow of energy, allowing the flow of good energy to give and to receive. Like attracts like and as the “Law of Attraction” suggests, you will attract all that you need and want when your heart is open.
